beetles rattle in the grass
like radio static, until
their wings spring open
& rust slowly in the sun

Much love to you all for the festive season and thank you to everyone who has supported this blog over the last three years… here’s to a creatively sparkling 2012.

  1. Have a wonderful first Christmas with the new addtion to your family…I look forward to another year of reading your poetry…Cheers!

  2. I would like to rust slowly in the sun; there are worse fates than that incredible image. Happy Christmas to you and yours! Thanks for the gift of your wonderful blog which I enjoy year round!

  3. ha – rusting slowly in the sun sounds nice…esp. when it is madly cold like over here at the moment… hope you have a wonderful holiday season and yes – looking forward to another poetic year

  4. Love the way you run the title into the poem – haha – good stuff. Hope Christmas went off with a bang for you and yours and that you had time to sit down and eat (ie., that the baby slept while you ate – haha) or that you had enough family and friends to do the baby shuffle or pass the baby while Mum and Dad got to eat. Hope 2012 is a good one too Graham.
