Brian Patten made his name in the 60’s as part of the Liverpool trio, alongside Roger McGough and Adrian Henri and is still one of the most accessible poets working in the world today.

Experience suggests that the bleak land serves depression well…and whilst there are certainly black diamonds to be found, there is also the overwhelming hypnotic pull to overstay our welcome…
I prefer the white diamonds of the present…

Gosh, all these poets and their poetry! I am so enjoying discovering who is out there in the land of pen and paper and a few moments…and then the long stretches of pondering, searching and understanding. i Especially like Lionel Harris-Spence’s response to the Q. Cant wait to look the work of these poets up.
